Happy Monday! What are your thoughts on this morning in May? I would have liked to sleep for an extra hour or two but I can’t let go of my quiet mornings. Have you had a good weekend? It was a soccer-heavy weekend for us, which was great. Although I missed many Hailey’s matches, I enjoy watching my children do what they love. H and K had their end-of-season tournaments at different times and locations, and because David coaches H, we were forced to stick with our split. H was runner-up in her tournament, and K won hers. The soccer season is officially over!
This is the first week we have gone without evening soccer on two nights per week, and without co-op. Swim team will fill in the gaps.
We are starting to lag behind in homeschooling. We spend our days doing Synthesis tutor and piano practice. We’ll go through May and then “school light” in June and possibly July with only math and spelling. It used to be a concern, but now that I have embraced the idea of homeschooling according to seasons, it is something I enjoy. This allows us to read aloud more, pursue hobbies, and enjoy the long days. When we get sick of the heat in early August and are ready for more structure, we will jump back into structured learning.
I know that’s a lot to talk about for a meal plan, but it is a great way to share our meals and check in with each other. I hope you enjoyed a relaxing weekend and are ready to tackle the new week.
