A Day in Our Homeschool Co-op + Frequently Asked Questions

We joined a co-op this year. As one of the co-founders was a friend I’ve known for a long time, I trusted her vision. It is only 5 minutes from our home and offers exactly what we wanted- enrichment and Spanish. We signed up the moment they opened registration. It’s been a huge blessing for us this year. There are so many great families there and we’re getting a lot from it.

We have co-op on Wednesdays. This works well with our homeschooling rhythm. We are very busy Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday is co-op day, Thursday is a full day, and Friday we have a lighter schedule. I am a firm believer that “learning is a way of life and school happens all the time” but, if you are curious about our lesson-focused schedule, this is what we do.

What does a cooperative day look like? It begins the night before for us. As part of the daily responsibility chart, girls pack their lunches. I used to be the one who packed the lunches, but now it’s “I don’t care what you put inside. Just feed yourself.”
