Although I laughed a long time when I thought about taking my kids to Las Vegas at the end of the 40th birthday trip I was told by many people that it is not unusual for parents to bring their children to Vegas. It’s not uncommon to hear about gambling, nightclubs, and debauchery. (I suppose Vegas is still trying un-do What happens in Vegas tagline from my younger days.) But there are also spectacular shows, elaborate displays and fun hotels on the strip.
We decided that a real shower would be nice after glamping in Bryce Canyon National Park as well as Zion National Park. We had heard of Mandalay Bay’s magnificent wave pool and booked two nights there. (More on this in the second …). We packed our glamping equipment and drove back to Las Vegas two hours away on Thursday.
We returned our Turo rental and paid $40 to enter our room before 4:00. ( ouch). The room was smelling of smoke but the concierge quickly moved us to another room that had no smoke smell but was just as large. We changed into our bathing suits immediately and headed to the pool.
