Sometimes I wonder if I’m misrepresenting my life.
It’s not deliberate. It’s not intentional. In fact, it is my intention to “keep things real” on social media and through blogging. Even with this focus, I will still show you the beautiful meals, the happy moments, and the highlights from an otherwise ordinary day. It makes sense to share the highlights of our day rather than endless piles of laundry or my ongoing efforts to organize an unorganized house.
I know I’m certainly not the only one. I think most people’s Instagramaccounts are like highlight reels and honestly, it is something that I enjoy! I love seeing beautiful meals, adorable kids, achievements, gorgeous scenery, and home decor.
Though I often congratulate myself on avoiding comparisons, it does catch up with me every now and then.
I know it’s because I’m trying to catch up (Hailey hasn’t sent out her birthday thank you card yet – ::hangs his head in shame:), however, I have caught myself pining a delicious looking meal, admiring a friend’s cute homemade greeting cards and running into someone that manages get dressed and wear make up every day. I also heard about how my friend is doing a great job at work, and wondered how another blogger creates fabulous How?!
Yesterday, I received an email. A reader sent me a genuine, kind email asking how I manage to do everything I do. He also asked for tips. I almost choked on my coffee. Then I realized I would have to post Wednesday because I needed to answer her question.
