A couple of weeks ago, I purchased supplies for Halloween-themed crafts and experiments. Life happened and I had to cancel my plans to do two experiments a week in the weeks leading up to Halloween. Instead, I decided that the Thursday before our fall break would be a fun-filled Halloween day. I told the girls about it and they were ready and excited to go ….
It was earlier than I expected. Ha.
We have a list of movies that we must always watch on Halloween (tradition!) So they snuggled on the couch and watched Curious George Boo Fest. (I know it’s for kids, but we still love it… tradition!) While I was making breakfast, they were as snug as a bug.
We started our first project, mason jar pumpkins.
It’s easy to tell that I am not a very crafty mom, because Hailey and both of my girls kept saying, “This is so much fun, Mom!” Bless them for their low expectations. They were right. It was a lot of fun. We’re new to modge Podge, and we are learning about all the cool stuff it can do.
Modge Podge is used to adhere the orange tissue pieces to the jar. After the jar is covered, cut out a black face from construction paper. Or draw and color a white face and cut it out. Let it dry and glue the face to the Jack-o-lantern. Use a tea light LED to make the pumpkins glow.
